la lucha libre

so after i wrote yesterday we walked back to our casa and had lunch..... i have to write about this because i actually ate meat. i was sooooo hungry and our meal was some kind of roast, potatoes, carrots, rice, and tortillas. soo she was nice and gave me only 4 hunks of meat and more papas y zanahorias than the others but yeah. so i took a tortilla and put the meat on it, and some rice, and ate it like that. at least then i didnt have to look at it :) and pineapple juice mmmm

last night we went to la lucha libre, which is like fighting where the guys wear masks and idk, it was interesting. it was fun but i pretty much have no desire to go back. we went with like 20 people, 15 from tejas and us and una chica de california. mary katie and i had to take a taxi from our house to a park and then another taxi to the collesium. trying to hail a cab was nuts, we just started walking down the street looking for a yellow car. we got one to stop on the opposite side of a five lane street and had to run across. elba keeps saying that taxis are very safe here so there were no worries really. we were advised to dress conservatively so not to attract unwanted attention. its hard to dress that way when it is so freaking hot!!! i learned a lot of slang while there, and idk. others had more fun than i did but thats all right. i was tired and hungry and it went very late.

this morning i wasnt feeling very good again but it has gotten better throughout the day. we had hot cakes en español o pancakes en ingles for breakfast and mango juice which is also mmmmm. classes were all right, they get to be very long sitting in the same chair for 2 and a half hours at a time, but its all right.

tomorrow i think we are going salsa dancing en un club, but i dont know for sure. there are 15 people studying to be bilingual nurses from tejas, and they are here for 6 weeks. they have a planned out schedule the whole time so thats how we learned about la lucha libre.

oh a funny story from monday..... we all got up to take showers early monday morning, and after like five minutes of being in there mary comes out and is like i cant get any hot water.. so i go see and it was definitely freezing. they told us at breakfast after that that we have to tell elba that we want her to turn the boiler on to get any hot water. idk why they didnt tell us before, of course we were going to shower. probably just to torture us for one day haha.

i havent taken any pictures yet, but mary and katie have so i will try and share soon. i have no clue how i am going to get mine onto the computer. i really wish i would have brought my laptop.
