el primer fin de semana

what a crazy weekend......

friday after class i took a 4 hour nap! i was soo tired from thursday night! [since i always say, our lunch was chiles rellinos or however you spell that. chiles stuffed with cheese and then friend in batter and pasta salad] we gave elba and heron our gifts friday, i think they liked them. we took pictures with them too so i will get those up once i find a way to be able to. friday we went to a club called buddha with the other people from texas. it was soo much fun. it was a club just like on mtv, we had to wait in this line outside, name drop to get in. they let us in in small groups and they were counting the number of girls and guys. inside there were lounges and sofas and chairs and i dunno it was just crazy! one of the guys from texas, sean, bought the drinks for the night for everyone, and there was no cover charge for the ladies. there were people walking around taking pictures...like the one i have now! now everyone can see im still alive. we stayed at the club until probably 330 or 4 in the morning. there was a lot of dancing and they played good music too...like man i feel like a woman by shania twain!!

saturday we woke up kinda late and got ready and went shopping because we were planning on going to this club chess and we heard it was really fancy and you couldnt get in if you showed up in a taxi and everything so first we went to plaza terranova and found absolutely nothing so katie walked up to a random woman on the street and asked where another mall was. she said gran plaza so we got a taxi there. it was just insane, so big in comparison to ridgedale or riverhills mall. mary and katie got dresses and i bought a pair of black dressy shorts. we ate a subway in the food court, ordering in spanish was definitely interesting. but it was soooooooo good. we got back to the apartment at 530 then, and we go up, and the door handle to our door was locked, and we dont have a key for that lock. sooo we went back downstairs and sat outside on the steps in front of our building for like an hour. waiting for elba and heron to get back. then a man and woman came up to us from next door and said they had heard us on la terraza the other day and we were welcome to use their pool in their backyard whenever we wanted. we told them we were locked out so they let us go over to their house and see the pool and they gave us their phone number so we could call if we wanted. they said they have had foreign exchange students in their house before. we talked to them for probably like 45 minutes, they we met their sons. they have 4...20 18 15 and 11. they are such nice people!! so luis, the 20 year old, was doing homework with his friend and had to bring him home so he asked if we wanted to ride along....so we went with...and stopped for coffee at starbucks. he was so nice to us and he went to an english school for 10 years so we could actually communicate. so we went back and our apartment was still locked so we went back to his house and waited some more. he said he would take us to the club that night so we didnt have to take a taxi. sooo we finally got in at like 8...and got all ready and went back to his house. he had some friends over...like 6 or 7 guys. we all went to the club then, but the people from tejas decided not to go because it was raining so they took us to their favorite club instead. they had a reserved table and everything and we got in free again. it was really crowded their but a lot of fun. lots of dancing again! my feet hurt from wearing heels 3 nights in a row but they wont let you in if you have sandals on. we left there about 3 or 330 and went back to luiss house to hang out. we finally went home at like 5!! it was a lot of fun though and the guys were all really nice.

sunday we slept until like 1 in the afternoon! elba and heron were at church so we got to eat without them watching over us. she had left us sandwiches and pasta. the pasta was plain. just plain cooked noodles. i dug out some salad dressing to liven things up a bit. we did our homework then and just kinda hung around. mary and i went to oxxo so she could buy a cell phone and so i could get something sweet. we never get dessert at our house. im not used to it!! we told elba we wanted to go to church at 6 with her grandson chava because he gave us an open invitation last week, so she told him and told us he would get us at 430 or 5...so we got all ready and waited around for him but he never showed up!! elba told us this morning that he went to a party saturday night and so he was sleeping sunday and couldnt get up or something. it was kinda sad! luis called later and came and got us at about 8. he is studying to be an architect and was working on a project with a friend so we just went to hang out while they finished up. then he drove us to the downtown area and we walked around the cathedral and government building and theater. it was really pretty especially at night with the lights but i wanna go back during the day so i can take pictures. at like 11 katie and i said we were hungry and so he said we could eat at his house cause his parents had people over during the day and there was food leftover...so we go and i had fried tacos with potatoes inside and mary and katie and him ate pork sandwiches. well after they ate he told them it was pigs tongue and stomach. he said he didnt wanna tell them before cause he knew they wouldnt eat it then. sooo we finally went home at midnight!

and now i am sooo tired i cant wait to take a nap and take a few days off to relax and rest up for the weekend again!!! plans for puerto vallarta are coming together and its looking like its going to be a lot cheaper because luis is going to drive us, and he asked his friend that lives there if we could stay with him and he said yes so now we dont have to pay for as much. if we went with school its like 210 dollars, and we arent sure if thats just the bus there and back or a place to stay too. regardless, if its cheaper we can possible go somewhere else too. there has been some talk about mexico city. we can fly there for about 100 dollars round trip. we will see!!!
