cafe chop

oh my goodness my exam today in level 9 was sooooo hard!!! last night mary and i met this girl tanya that is in our class at a cafe by school called chop. it was the coolest place ever! we sat inside at some couches with a big table in the middle but there were places to sit outside around the whole place. mary and i shared a pizza that had chicken, mozzeralla cheese (finally!!!) and onions that was sooo good. they also had tons of coffee and tea drinks. we studied together for like 3 hours, and the concepts all pretty much make sense to me but when you mix them all up and put them in completely different contexts i have no freakin clue what to do. sooo yeah. luis picked us up at 9 and brought us home and i studied more until 10 30 when i finally gave up and went to bed. this morning we studied for an hour before the exam and it was the most awful thing ever. i have never been more confident that i failed a test in my life. sooo that was fantastic. i also had my culture mid term today and we corrected it in class and i got 100 percent, so at least that helps things a little bit! yesterday katies dad came to our apartment for lunch, he is really nice. he came to visit katie for 10 days (hmmmm did my parents plan a trip??? no!!! just kidding i wouldnt wanna play translator for 10 days) but yeah that was fun. elba was kinda annoyed cause she doesnt like when we speak in english cause she doesnt understand, which i completely dont blame her. we try and speak in spanish when we are in taxis and stuff so we arent rude. sometimes its difficult but we give it an honest effort. we were talking today about how its going to be weird to go home and walk down the street and not be cat called or whistled at 30 times every time we go somewhere. sad but really true. the difference in cars is also weird here. there are a lot of cars that are really really crappy, and then there are a lot of cars that are really really nice...but no real happy medium. but i guess thats true about mexico, either you have money or you dont. well i am getting very excited to go to puerto vallarta this weekend! its been cold the last few days here. i am back to wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. yaaay! it rained all day monday and last night i think...hopefully not tonight!! i am sick of it!
